Call Now

Call us right away if

These can't wait until morning.

Most electrical fires and frozen pipes start as a small problem someone decided to sleep on. If you see any of these, call.

Electrical emergencies

  • A burning smell from an outlet, switch or the panel
  • Buzzing, crackling or humming from the breaker panel
  • A sparking outlet or switch
  • A breaker that trips again as soon as you reset it
  • Storm damage: a downed service line or a pulled meter
  • Partial power loss, where half the house is dead or lights are dim

HVAC emergencies

  • No heat when it's below freezing outside
  • No cooling during extreme heat, especially with kids, elderly or pets in the home
  • Water pooling around the furnace or air handler
  • A gas smell: leave the house and call the gas company first, then call us

Heating and air is new at Metroplex. The technicians who come out are licensed and trained for it, and backed by the same office that has answered this phone since 1973.

What to do while you wait

Four things to do before we arrive.

None of these fix the problem. They keep it from getting worse while a technician is on the way to you.

  1. Shut off the breaker if it's safe

If something smells hot or an outlet is sparking, flip the breaker for that circuit, or the main. Only if you can reach the panel on dry ground.

  2. Don't keep resetting it

A breaker that trips twice is doing its job. Leave it off until we've found what's tripping it. Resetting again can start a fire.

  3. Stay clear of water

Don't touch a wet panel, outlet, furnace or air handler. Keep kids and pets out of the room and don't try to mop around live equipment.

  4. Turn the HVAC off at the thermostat

Running a failed system can turn a repair into a replacement. Switch it off, open windows in the heat, layer up in the cold, and keep an eye on anyone vulnerable.

Where we come, and how fast

The whole metro, any hour.

We're based on Broadway Extension, so most of the metro is a short drive even at 2 a.m. Trucks are stocked for the common failures so the first visit is usually the fix.

Before you call

Three quick answers.

Is there an after-hours fee?

Yes. Emergency calls outside our regular hours are billed at an emergency rate. The technician tells you the rate and the diagnostic charge before any work starts, and you get a written price for the repair before we do it. No surprises on the invoice.

Do you serve my city?

We cover Oklahoma City and the surrounding metro, including Edmond, Norman, Moore, Yukon, Mustang, Del City, Bethany, Midwest City, Nichols Hills, The Village and Warr Acres. If you're just outside that list, call anyway. We'll tell you straight whether we can get to you.

What counts as an emergency?

Anything that threatens safety or makes the home unlivable: a burning smell, a sparking outlet, a buzzing panel, storm damage to your service, no heat in freezing weather, no cooling in extreme heat, or water around the furnace. If you're not sure, call. We'd rather talk you through a false alarm than have you wait on a real one.
